November 2011The North Island Tournament produced some great weather and excellent golf at Taupo this year. Congratulations to the following Two Under Club NZ North Island Champions:
The ladies event was keenly contested with regular visitor Mary Jelicich scoring a scorching 78 over the two days. Unfortunately Mary is not a Two Under Club member so the trophy went to Robyn Prentice on 66. We both want to thank all of the participants and the Taupo Golf Club for two great days. August 2011We have finalised the date for the North Island Tournament (19th & 20th November in Taupo) but RWC games, ongoing challenges that Christchurch is experiencing and golf clubs entering into their club busy time of year we have decided to defer the South Island Tournament until March 2012. We are toying with the option of moving the tournament to Queenstown and would appreciate your feedback on this. Please email us with either Christchurch or Queenstown if you intend to play in this event and have a strong preference for either venue. We will look to set a date before the end of 2011 so you can lock in cheap flights and accommodation. The ladies event was keenly contested with visitors Karo Preston scoring 107 and Deb Ring scoring 105. However as both Karo and Deb are not Two Under Club members the trophy went to Diane Bailey on 103 ... winning on a countback from Linda Dearnley. We both want to thank all of the participants for a great three days with a special mention to the team from Walton Golf Club. This was a fantastic two days of golf with great fellowship and good golfing weather. October 2010We have been contacted by many South Island members who are unable to make this year's South Island Tournament due to issues they personally have from the recent earthquake. A decision has been made to cancel this year's South Island tournament and our thoughts and prayers go out to all members and families. Please accept our thanks for the handful of members who did enter and our apologies for having to cancel the event. Also thank you for those members who provided us with feedback on future tournaments in the South Island. We will do our best to deliver a more suitable tournament in 2009. This tournament is open to Two Under Club Members, family and friends on condition that they have an official golf handicap.
